guest speaking
Teens today are affected by so many issues and they have ideas and questions and thoughts and sometimes solutions.
We just have to give them the space to say it.
We just have to ask.
– on writing for teens
I am practised and confident in speaking to groups of any size. My work has been used in assessments and studied in high school English classes across the country by several different schools, and I have also been a panelist in several writers’ festivals.
I am available to talk to students studying my work or to discuss my experience with mental illness, treatment and recovery. Recently, I have been on panels discussing disability writing and my experiences as a writer with invisible disabilities.
As a speaker, I take pride in being honest and unafraid while also maintaining boundaries, safe practices and hope.
